SOVA Community Food and Resource Program of Jewish Family Service of
Los Angeles provides groceries and supportive services to over 12,000
people each month. JFSLA is the oldest charitable organization on Los
Angeles serving the most vulnerable members of the community
regardless of religion, ethnicity, age or race. . Since its founding
in 1854, it has counseled families, fed the hungry, sheltered the
homeless and protected the vulnerable. Through its SOVA Community Food
and Resource Program, JFS responds to hunger
and poverty in our community by providing individuals and families with
the resources they need to regain self-sufficiency and independence.
Last year, SOVA distributed over 2.6 million pounds of food to people
struggling with poverty and food insecurity.
